The Simien Mountains trek

Day 1:

• Depart from Gonder to Debark. Capture stunning views and encounter gelada baboons on a scenic hike or go for a direct drive. 
• Spend a night at the Sankaber Campsite.

Day 2: 

• Begin your hike from Sankaber Campsite, tracing the ridge with awe-inspiring views of the foothills 800 meters below. 
• Descend into the valley, witness the majestic Jinbar River, and continue to Geech village, where your second campsite is located.

Day 3: 

• Embark on a 7-8 hour hike offering unparalleled views of the Simien Mountains. Pass through Imet Gogo at 3,926 meters, soaking in the panoramic splendor. 
• Marvel at the valley viewpoint (4,070 meters) before descending to Chennek Campsite (3,600 meters).

Day 4: 

• After breakfast, hike for 2 hours and conquer the Buwahit Pass (4,200 meters). 
• Traverse the Meseha Valley, cross a river, and ascend towards Ambiko Campsite.

Day 5: 

• Embark on the grand trek to the Ras Dashen Peak, commencing with an early morning walk through the main valley. 
• Ascend among giant lobelia plants, facing a challenging yet rewarding hike to Ethiopia's highest point at 4,543 meters. Revel in the awe-inspiring landscapes before reaching Ambiko Campsite for the night.

Day 6:

• Prepare for another full day, descending to the Meseha River (2,750 meters), then ascending to the small village of Chiroloba. 
• Enjoy a lunch break and continue climbing the Buwahit Pass (4,430 meters), followed by a one-hour descent to Chennek Campsite for an overnight stay.

Day 7: 

• Bid farewell to Chenek as you embark on a scenic drive back to Gonder, a journey of approximately 5 hours. We will drop you off at any place you need.
