Day 1:
- We will start the day with catching the morning flight from Addis Ababa to Gonder.
- Upon arrival, a vehicle will be waiting to take us on a scenic 100 km drive north to the charming town of Debark to the famous Simien National Park.
- After completing park formalities and assembling your team, embark on a bumpy road, located at 3,100m above sea level. Here, take a short 2-3 hour walk to acclimatize to the altitude and marvel at the breathtaking mountain range. Admire the unique flora of the area. Keep an eye out for the largest population of Gelada Baboons found in this region.
- Spend the night at Sankaber Camp, located 3,250m above sea level.
Day 2:
- After breakfast, we will depart around 8:30 am and traverse the Northern escarpment to witness stunning views including the magnificent Jinbar Waterfall. Keep an eye out for various birds.
- After a brief 20-minute drive on a rough road, enjoy lunch near the Jinbar River before ascending through terraced farmland to reach our camp.
- In the evening, take a 30-minute hike up to the Kedadit Mountain for an unforgettable sunset. Overnight at Geech Camp.
Day 3:
- Embark on a 2-hour trek after breakfast to reach the breathtaking Imet Gogo Peak (3,926m) which offers a 360-degree view.
- Trek along the escarpment, crossing a valley and ascending the Inatye Peak (4,070m) for lunch and stunning views of the mountain villages below.
- Admire the vast Giant Lobelia fields. Descend to reach Chennek Camp (3,620m), known as the wildlife corridor and the best location to spot Gelada Baboons, Walia Ibex, and the Ethiopian Wolf. Overnight at Chennek Camp.
Day 4:
- We begin the day with a climb to Pass Bwahit (4,200m), a necessary route for hikers. For those with the stamina, we continue on to Ras Bwahit Peak (4,430m), one of the highest in the region.
- We will to the city of Gonder around 5:00 PM. Your flight back to Addis Ababa awaits.
- Included: experienced english-speaking local guide; meals; bottled water; 3 nights camping in sharing mode; entrance fees; luggage porters; professional cook with complete cooking equipment; government tax.
- Not included: tips and gratitude; any domestic flights; alcoholic drinks, souvenirs etc.
