- During the tour, we will visit such important sights as the Latin Quarter – the place where the Dominican monastery was located in the 13th century. Pikk Street – once the main street of the city, which played an important role in the trade and crafts of Tallinn.
- We will also learn a lot about the history of the city in the 13th-16th centuries, when Tallinn became part of the mighty Hanseatic League, a trade union that dominated the trade on the Baltic Sea for many years.
- We will also get acquainted with the architecture of the city, identifying its unique features and characteristics. We will see with our own eyes the churches of St. Olaf, St. Nicholas and the Holy Spirit.
- In total, the old city has two important components: the Upper and Lower City. There is also have a fascinating story that sheds light on the conflict between the two parts of the city.
- After a tour of the Lower City, we will walk along Short Leg Street, from which the saying came that Tallinn is a city that «limps».
- The Upper City, unlike the Lower City, was home to numerous knights, soldiers and landowners. In this part of the city we will see the beautiful Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky and the Lutheran Cathedral of St. Mary.
- Not far from this majestic architectural ensemble, a beautiful castle awaits us. It is where the parliament of the country sits. Here we can enjoy the view of Tallinn from one of the viewing platforms in this part of the city.
- After walking through the Upper Town, we will head back to the Lower part, pass through Short Leg Street and return to the Town Hall Square, where our tour comes to an end.
- We will be walking a lot during the tour, so wear comfortable shoes.
